Activated Carbon

Activated carbon is a carbonaceous adsorbent with a high internal porosity, and hence a large internal surface area. Commercial activated carbon grades have an internal surface area of 500 up to 1500 m2/g. Related to the type of application, two major product groups exist:

Application

Powder AC
Powder activated carbon has many kinds, and suitable to many ranges of customer's needs, such as purity, decolorization and filtration.
Crushed formed AC
Crushed formed activated carbon is suitable for regeneration use as it has high adsorption capacity and degree of hardness because it is activated slowly for long time. It can be applied in purification and refining of various kinds of gas, air cleaning filter, catalyst, decolorization and purification of industrial chemicals and drinking water, water treatment.
Granular AC
Granular activated carbon is made from wood and has high adsorption and purity as it highly activated purifies. It is suitable for acid, alkali, and solvent medicine as binder is not used and has little ash content.
AC Fiber
Activated carbon fiber can be of felt, cloth, paper. The characteristic of activated carbon fiber are high-speed adsorption and desorption. It can be applied in solvent recovery, capacitor, face mask ,water treatment.

Applications

Activated carbon has the good adsorption properties, developed porous structure, large specific surface area, and is of low ash, high mechanical strength, readily regeneration. It's widely used for solvent recovery, air purification, waste water treatment, potable water purification, catalyst or catalyst carrier, desulphurization etc.
